Question 66

The line chart given below shows the ratio of imports to exports for a country for 5 consecutive years Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5.

If the imports for year Y5 is ₹ 76000 crore, then what will be exports (in crores) for the year Y5?

Solution

Ratio of Imports to Exports of Y5 = $$0.95 = \dfrac{95}{100} = 95 : 100$$
Let imports be Rs.95x and exports be Rs.100x
Given, 95x = Rs.76000 => x = Rs.800
Then, Exports = Rs.100x = Rs.100*800 = Rs.80000
