Shekhar walked a distace at a speed of 8 km/h. He was in a hurry, so on the return journey he travelled in an autorickshaw at a speed of 24 km/h. Find his average speed for the entire journey?
Solution
As we know,
Average Speed = $$\frac{2xy}{x+y}$$
Where x = Walking Speed and y = speed in auto rickshaw
=$$\frac{2\times\ 8\times\ 24}{8+24}=\frac{384}{32}=12\ \frac{km}{hr}$$
