If the selling price is Rs 2125 after getting a discount of 15% what was the marked price?

Solution

Let Marked Price = Rs. $$x$$

Selling price = Rs. 2125

Discount % = $$\frac{(x - 2125)}{x} \times 100 = 15$$

=> $$\frac{x-2125}{x} = \frac{15}{100} = \frac{3}{20}$$

=> $$20x - 42500 = 3x$$

=> $$20x - 3x = 17x = 42500$$

=> $$x = \frac{42500}{17} = Rs$$ $$2500$$

=> Ans - (D)
