Two craftsmen, A and B, are paid a total of ₹700 per week by their employer. If A is paid 250% of the sum paid to B, how much is A paid per week?
Two craftsmen, A and B, are paid a total of ₹700 per week by their employer.
A+B = ₹700 Eq.(i)
If A is paid 250% of the sum paid to B.
A = 250% of B
$$A=\frac{250}{100}\times B$$
$$A=\frac{5}{2}\times B$$
$$A=2.5B$$ Eq.(ii)
Put Eq.(ii) in Eq.(i).
2.5B+B = ₹700
3.5B = ₹700
B = $$\frac{700}{3.5}$$
= $$\frac{7000}{35}$$
B = 200 Eq.(ii)
Put Eq.(ii) in Eq.(i).
A+₹200 = ₹700
A = ₹700-₹200
So A paid per week = ₹500
