Article 356 of the Constitution of India provides for
Article 356 empowers the President to impose President’s Rule in a state if the constitutional machinery fails. It is invoked based on the Governor’s report or otherwise. During President’s Rule, the state government is dismissed, and administration comes under the Centre. It does not relate to reservations, religious monuments, or education.
