A student gets 60% of the maximum marks. If he gets 50% more than the passing mark, then the passing mark is what percentage of the maximum marks?

Solution

Let the pass marks be x.
Student gets 150% of x = $$\dfrac{3x}{2}$$
$$\dfrac{3x}{2} = 60$$%

=> $$x = 40$$%
Therefore, Pass percentage = 40%
