Let's assume the remaining food last from the time that these 50 soldiers left is 'y' days.

$$men_1\times\ days_1\ =\ men_2\times\ days_2$$

$$250\times600\ =\ 250\times60+\left(250-50\right)\times y$$

$$250\times600\ =\ 250\times60+200\times y$$

$$250\times3\ =\ 25\times3+y$$

$$750\ =\ 75+y$$

y = 750-75

= 675
