Question 63

The ratio of monthly incomes of Ram and Rahim is 4 : 3 and the ratio of their monthly expenditures is 3 : 2. If each saves ₹ 5000 per month, then what are the respective monthly incomes of Ram and Rahim?

Solution

profit = income- expenditure

income of ram and rahim is 4x and 3x

and their expenditre is 3y and 2y

saving by ram is

4x-3y = 5000

saving by rahim is 3x - 2y = 5000

by solving both equation we get

x= y

put x= y in above equations we get

x = 5000

y  = 5000

so 4x = $$4 \times 5000$$ = RS 20000

   3x = $$3 \times 5000$$ = RS 15000
