The average marks of X, Y, Z is 180. What is X’s mark?
Statements:
1. Y and Z together score 50 marks
2. X and Z together score 60 marks

Solution

Average of X.Y,Z = 180

Total marks = 540

Using 1st statement , X = 540 - 50 = 490

While using 2nd statement, value of x can not be determined.

So , the answer would be option c)1 alone is sufficient while 2 alone is not sufficient.
