A fraction when added to $$ \frac{7}{3}$$  gives 4. What is the fraction?

Solution

Let the fraction be $$\frac{a}{b}$$
Given, 
$$\frac{a}{b} + \frac{7}{3} = 4$$

$$\frac{a}{b} = 4 - \frac{7}{3}$$

$$\frac{a}{b} = \frac{5}{3}$$ (or) $$1\frac{2}{3}$$

Hence, option D is the correct answer.
