Question 62

What is the LCM of $$\frac{2}{3}$$, $$\frac{4}{6}$$,$$\frac{8}{27}$$?

Solution

calculate the lcm of nemerator

2 = 2

8 =$$2\times 2\times 2$$

4=$$2\times 2$$

Select the common terms

 lcm= $$2\times 2\times 2 =8$$

denominator is calculated by hcf method

3 = $$3$$

6 = $$2\times 3$$

27 =$$3\times 3\times 3$$

select the highest  common factor = 3

lcm = $$\frac{lcm}{hcf}$$

       $$\frac{8}{3}$$
