Let the average score for 9 innings = x runs
Then, Total score for 9 innings = 9x runs
Score in 10th innings = 106 runs
His new average for 10 innings = x+6 runs
$$\dfrac{9x+106}{10} = x+6$$
=> $$9x+106 = 10x+60$$
=> $$x = 46$$
Therefore, His average for 9 innings = 46 runs
His average for 10 innings = 46+6 = 52 runs.
