Let the side of square = $$s$$ cm and diagonal, $$d = 14$$ cm
=> $$(s)^2 + (s)^2 = (d)^2$$
=> $$2s^2 = (14)^2 = 196$$
=> $$s^2 = \frac{196}{2} = 98$$
