Question 62

A sum of money is divided among P, Q, R and S in the ratio of 3 : 4 : 9 : 10 respectively. If the share of R is ₹2,580 more than the share of Q, then what is the total amount of Q and S together?

Assume the money with P, Q, R and S to be $$3x$$, $$4x$$, $$9x$$ and $$10x$$ respectively.

So, the difference between R and Q is $$9x-4x=5x=2580$$

or, $$x=516$$.

So, the total amount with Q and S together is $$4x+10x=14x=7224$$

Hence, the answer is 7224.
