Solution

A bag contains ten-rupee, five rupees, and two rupee notes in the ratio 10 : 5 : 2.

Let's assume the number of ten-rupee, five rupees, and two rupee notes in the bag is 10y, 5y and 2y respectively.

The total value of five rupee notes in the bag is ₹84 more than that of two rupee notes.

$$5y\times5 = 2y\times2 + 84$$ [Here 5 and 2 are multiplied by five and two rupee's note numbers for converting them into one rupee.]

25y = 4y+84

25y-4y = 84

21y = 84

y = 4

The total value of ten rupee notes in the bag = $$10y\times10$$ = 100y

= $$100\times4$$

= ₹400
