Solution
Given, 75% of x = $$\dfrac{2}{5}$$ of y
$$\dfrac{2}{5} = 40$$%
Then, 75% of x = 40% of y
$$\dfrac{x}{y} = \dfrac{40}{75} = \dfrac{8}{15}$$
Therefore, $$x : y = 8 : 15$$
