If the mean of the observations x, x + 4, x + 5, x + 7, x + 9 is 9, then the mean of the last three observations is:
Sum =x+ x + 4+ x + 5+ x + 7+ x + 9
=5x+25
Mean =(5x+25)/5
x+5=9
x=4
Last three observations are 9,11 and 13
mean=33/3
=11
