Solution

Two numbers are in the ratio of 3 : 5.

Let's assume the two numbers are 3y and 5y.

HCF of 3y and 5y = y

If their HCF is 8.

So y = 8

Two numbers = 3y and 5y

= $$3\times8$$ and $$5\times8$$

= 24 and 40
