The average weight of a group of 24 students increases by 2 kg when the weight of teacher is also included. If the initial average weight of the group of 24 students was 30 kg, then what is the weight of teacher?
Solution
Let the total weight of 24 students be A kg
Given, $$\dfrac{A}{24} = 30$$
=> $$A = 720 kg$$
Let the weight of the teacher be T kg
$$\dfrac{A+T}{25} = 32$$
=> $$A+T = 800 kg$$
$$720+T = 800 => T = 80$$
Therefore, The weight of the teacher = 80 kg.
