Question 56

The following chart shows the marks (in degrees) scored by a student in different subjects — English, Hindi, History, Economics and Political Science — in an examination. Total marks obtained in the examination are 600. Observe the chart and answer the question.

What is the difference between marks scored in History and marks scored in Hindi?

Solution

From the graph,

Marks scored by the student in History = $$\frac{70}{360}\times600=\frac{350}{3}$$

Marks scored by the student in Hindi = $$\frac{55}{360}\times600=\frac{275}{3}$$

$$\therefore\ $$The difference between marks scored in History and marks scored in Hindi = $$\frac{350}{3}-\frac{275}{3}$$

$$=\frac{75}{3}$$

$$=25$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option A
