Question 56

P's salary is 25% higher than Q, what percentage is Q's salary lower than that of P?

Solution

Let Q's salary = Rs. $$100x$$

P's salary is 25% higher than Q, => P's salary = $$100x+(\frac{25}{100} \times 100x)=Rs.$$ $$125x$$

=> Q's salary is lower than that of P by = $$\frac{125x-100x}{125x} \times 100$$

= $$\frac{1}{5} \times 100=20\%$$

=> Ans - (A)
