Let the number is x,

Now 85% of the $$=\dfrac{x\times 85}{100}$$

As per the condition,

$$x=75+\dfrac{x\times 85}{100}$$

$$\Rightarrow x-\dfrac{x\times 85}{100}=75$$

$$\Rightarrow \dfrac{100\times x-x\times 85}{100}=75$$

$$\Rightarrow \dfrac{15\times x}{100}=75$$

$$\Rightarrow x=\dfrac{75\times 100}{15}=500$$
