If 60% of the students in a school are boys and number of girls is 812, how many boys are there in the school?

Solution

Let total students = $$100x$$

=> Boys = $$\frac{60}{100} \times 100x=60x$$

=> Girls = $$100x-60x=40x$$

Also, $$40x=812$$

=> $$x=\frac{812}{40}=20.3$$

$$\therefore$$ Number of boys = $$60 \times 20.3=1218$$

=> Ans - (B)
