Suraj covers a distance of 18 km in 12 minutes. If his speed is decreases by 30 km/hr, then how much time will Suraj take to cover the same distance?

Solution

18 km is covered in 12 minutes = $$\frac{12}{60}=0.2$$ hours

=> Speed = $$\frac{18}{0.2}=90$$ km/hr

If speed is decreased by 30 km/hr, => new speed = 60 km/hr

Thus, time taken to cover 18 km = $$\frac{18}{60}=0.3$$ hours

= $$0.3\times60=18$$ minutes

=> Ans - (D)
