If 177 is divided into 3 parts in the ratio 1/2 : 2/3: 4/5, then the second part is

Solution

Let each part be = $$\frac{x}{2} , \frac{2x}{3} , \frac{4x}{5}$$

Sum = $$\frac{x}{2}+\frac{2x}{3}+\frac{4x}{5}=177$$

=> $$\frac{15x+20x+24x}{30}=177$$

=> $$59x=177 \times 30$$

=> $$x=\frac{177}{59} \times 30$$

=> $$x=3 \times 30=90$$

$$\therefore$$ Second part = $$\frac{2}{3} \times 90=60$$

=> Ans - (D)
