B alone can complete a work in 12 days. How many days will A, B and C together takes to complete the work?
I. A and B together can complete the work in 3 days.
II. B and C together can complete the work in 6 days.
Assume total work to be done = 12 units. Then $$\eta_B$$ = 1 unit/day
Using only statement I, we get $$\eta_A$$+ $$\eta_B$$ = 12/3 = 4unit/day.
Thus only $$\eta_A$$ can be calculated.
Similarly using statement II, we can calculate $$\eta_C$$ only.
Using both the statement together will give $$\eta_A$$ as well as $$\eta_C$$ and thus we will get the required answer. Hence option C is correct
