If a:b = 3:8, find the value of (5a - 3b)/(2a + b).

Solution

It is given that $$a$$ : $$b$$ = 3 : 8

Let $$a = 3$$ and $$b = 8$$

To find : $$\frac{5a - 3b}{2a + b}$$

= $$\frac{(5 \times 3) - (3 \times 8)}{(2 \times 3) + (8)}$$

= $$\frac{(15 - 24)}{(6 + 8)} = \frac{-9}{14}$$

=> Ans - (C)
