difference between a discount of 30% on ₹2,000 and a discount of 40% on ₹5,000 = ₹5,000 of 40% - ₹2,000 of 30%
= $$5000\times\frac{40}{100}-2000\times\frac{30}{100}$$
= 2000-600
= 1400
