A papaya tree was planted 2 years ago. It increases at the rate of 20% every year. If at present, the height of the tree is 540 cm, what was its height when the tree was planted?

Solution

Let the height at time of plantation be h.

now, height = 540 = 6/5*6/5*h

36/25h = 540

h = 540*25/36 = 375 cm
