Question 52

The ratio of three angles of a triangle is 1 : 3 : 5. Which is the measure of the greatest angle?

Solution

Given, ratio of the three angles of the triangle is 1 :3 : 5

Let the three angles are 1p, 3p, 5p

$$=$$>  1p + 3p + 5p = $$180^{\circ\ }$$

$$=$$>   9p = $$180^{\circ\ }$$

$$=$$>   p = $$20^{\circ\ }$$

$$\therefore\ $$Greatest angle of the triangle = 5p = $$5\left(20^{\circ\ }\right)$$ = $$100^{\circ\ }$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option D
