The cost of 15 kg of groundnuts and 4 kg of cashews is Rs. 7,000. The cost of 10 kg of cashews is equal to 25 kg of groundnuts. Find the cost of groundnut per kg.
Solution
Let 1 kg of groundnuts cost x and 1 kg of cashew cost y
10y = 25x
y = 2.5x -------I
15x + 4y = 7000 -----II
Putting I in II
15x + 10x = 7000
25x = 7000
x = Rs 280.
