Question 5

The smallest angle of a triangle is 40° less than the largest angle. If the largest angle is 80°, then find the third angle of the triangle.

Solution

Largest angle of triangle = 80°

=> Smallest angle = 80° - 40° = 40°

Let third angle = $$\theta$$

Thus, sum of the three angle = $$\theta+80^\circ+40^\circ=180^\circ$$

=> $$\theta=180^\circ-120^\circ=60^\circ$$

=> Ans - (D)
