Question 5

If three numbers are in the ratio 2:3:5 and the twice their sum is 100. Find the square of the largest of the three numbers.

Given that three numbers are in the ratio 2:3:5 and the twice their sum is 100

Lets assume three numbers are a,b and c

therefore, $$ 2(a+b+c)=100 $$

=>$$ 2x+3x+5x=50 $$ ( Given that three numbers are in ratio 2:3:5)

=> $$x=5$$

Therefore, largest number would be 25 and it's square would be 625.
