Question 47

Select the correct sequence of mathematical signs to sequentially replace the letters
A, B, C, D and E so as to balance the given equation.
(38 A 17) B 9 C 117 D 13 E 94 = 104

Solution

As per the rule of BODMAS,

We will check option wise,

Option A , $$\times,\div,+,-,-$$

$$(38\times\ \ 17)\div9+\ 117-13-94=104$$

by solving , we get,

$$81.78\ne\ 104$$

Option B ,     $$+,\div,\times,+,-$$

$$(38+\ 17)\div9\times\ 117+13-94=104$$

by solving we get ,

 $$634\ne\ 104$$

Similarly Option C, $$-,\times,+,\div,-$$

$$(38-\ 17)\times\ 9+\ 117\div13-94=104$$

by solving we get,

$$104=104$$

Hence , Option C is correct.
