Question 46

Select the option that shows the interchange of signs, which when made will make the
given equation correct.
11 + 4 $$-$$ 3 $$\div$$ 3 $$\times$$ 7 = 8

Solution

Given Equation : 11 + 4 $$-$$ 3 $$\div$$ 3 $$\times$$ 7 = 8

By interchanging the sign given in only Option C will make the above equation correct.

Option C : $$-$$ and $$\times$$

Now,

$$\therefore\ 11+4\times\ 3\div3-7=8$$

Now solving above equation according to the rule of BODMAS :

$$\therefore\ 11+4\times\ 1-7=8$$

$$\therefore\ 11+4-7=8$$

$$\therefore\ 15-7=8$$

$$\therefore\ 8=8$$

So, L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence, Option C is correct.
