now given that
XY=120....(I)
and 3y=X+2...(2)
from (1) and (2)
X(X+2)=360
xx+2x-360=0
xx+20x-18x-360=0
X(X+20)-18(X+20)=0
(X+20)(x-18)=0
X=18
