The price of 12 kg of sugar is equal to that of 6 kg of rice. The price of 10 kg of sugar and 8 kg of rice Rs. 1040. Find the price 1 kg of sugar.
Let the cost of$$\frac{sugar}{kg}$$ is Rsx
Rice. is Rs y
Cost of 12Kg sugar =12x
cost. 6kg Rice = 6y
12x=6y
y=$$\frac{12x}{6}$$=2x. (i)
Cost of 10kgsugar=10x
cost of 8kg sugar = 8y
10x +8y=1040
5x+4y=520 ...(2)
5x+8x=520
13 x = 520
x = 40
Cost of 1Kg of sugar = Rs 40
