Question 44

The difference between the length and breadth of a rectangle is 6 m. If its perimeter is 64 m, then its area is:

Solution

Perimeter = $$2\times (L + B)$$

64          =$$2\times (L + B)$$

L + B = 38 m .....(1)

given

L- B = 6 m      ...(2)

solving both

L = 19 m

B = 13 m

Area = $$L\times B$$

        =247 sq.m
