Question 43

In a certain code language, 'LOWER' is coded as '37', and 'OVER' is coded as '06'. How will 'MELON' be coded in that code language?

Solution

The first sum of the place values of the letters within the word is done and after that digits of the obtained numbers are interchanged with each other.

LOWER ==> 12+15+23+5+18 = 73 ==> 37

OVER ==> 15+22+5+18 = 60 ==> 06

MELON ==> 13+5+12+15+14 = 59 ==> 95

The code of 'MELON' in that code language is 95.
