Solution

$$77+9^2\ =\ 77+81\ =\ 158$$

$$158+7^2\ =\ 158+49\ =\ 207$$

$$207+5^2\ =\ 207+25\ =\ 232$$

$$232+3^2\ =\ 232+9\ =\ 241$$

$$241+1^2\ =\ 241+1\ =\ 242$$

So 242 will come in place of the question mark.
