$$H_2O$$ : Sugar $$\rightarrow$$ Recrystallization (Q)
Sugar is a solid that is highly soluble in water at elevated temperatures but less soluble at lower temperatures. When a saturated solution of sugar in water is cooled down, sugar separates out as pure crystals, making Recrystallization the ideal purification technique.
$$H_2O$$ : Aniline $$\rightarrow$$ Steam distillation (R) Aniline is an organic liquid that is virtually immiscible with water but volatile in steam. Steam distillation is used to separate and purify substances that are steam-volatile and insoluble in water, allowing them to distill at a temperature lower than their actual boiling point (which prevents thermal decomposition).
$$H_2O$$ : Toluene $$\rightarrow$$ Differential extraction (S) Toluene and water are two completely immiscible liquid layers. When an organic compound is present in an aqueous medium, it can be separated using a separating funnel by adding an organic solvent (like toluene) in which the compound is more soluble. This separation technique is called Differential extraction.
Hence,
(A) → (Q); (B) → (R); (C) → (S)
