Present age of P is 45 years. 9 years hence ages of P and Q will be in ratio 6 : 7. What is the present age (in years) of Q?

Solution

Let P's and Q's age 9 years hence = $$6x$$ and $$7x$$ years respectively.

=> P's present age = $$6x-9=45$$

=> $$6x=45+9=54$$

=> $$x=\frac{54}{6}=9$$

$$\therefore$$ Q's present age = $$7x-9$$

= $$7(9)-9=63-9=54$$ years

=> Ans - (B)
