Question 4

What is the x-intercept of line joining (4, 2) and (6, 3) ?

Solution

Equation of line joining (4, 2) and (6, 3) is : $$(y-2)=\frac{(3-2)}{(6-4)}\times(x-4)$$

=> $$y-2=\frac{1}{2}(x-4)$$

To find x-intercept, we substitute $$y=0$$

=> $$0-2=\frac{1}{2}(x-4)$$

=> $$x-4=-4$$

=> $$x=4-4=0$$

=> Ans - (A)
