Question 4

In a co-educational secondary school 65% of the students are boys. If there are 224 girls in the school, find the number of boys in the school ?

Solution

Let total students = $$100x$$

=> % of girls = $$(100-65)\%=35\%$$

According to ques,

=> $$\frac{35}{100}\times100x=224$$

=> $$35x=224$$

=> $$x=\frac{224}{35}=6.4$$

$$\therefore$$ Number of boys = $$\frac{65}{100}\times100\times6.4$$

= $$65\times6.4=416$$

=> Ans - (C)
