Question 4

Find the area (in sq units) enclosed by y = 0, x+6=0 and 2x-3y=6.

Solution

The graph represented by the lines : $$y=0$$, $$x+6=0$$ and $$2x-3y=6$$ is

Now, area of $$\triangle$$ ABC with base $$BC=9$$ units and height $$AB=6$$ units

= $$\frac{1}{2}bh$$

= $$\frac{1}{2}\times9\times6=27$$ sq. units

=> Ans - (D)
