The following equation is incorrect. Which two signs should be interchanged to correct the equation?
5 - 12 + 15 ÷ 50 x 25 = 23

Solution

Expression : 5 - 12 + 15 ÷ 50 x 25 = 23

(A) : x and -

L.H.S. = $$5\times12+15\div50-25$$

= $$60+0.3-25=35.3\neq$$ R.H.S.

(B) : ÷ and x

L.H.S. = $$5-12+15\times50\div25$$

= $$-7+(15\times2)=23=$$ R.H.S.

=> Ans - (B)
