The following equation is incorrect. Which two signs should be interchanged to correct the equation?

16 ÷ 4 x 8 - 10 + 14 = 12

Solution

Expression : 16 ÷ 4 x 8 - 10 + 14 = 12

(A) : x and -

L.H.S. = $$16\div4-8\times10+14$$

= $$4-80+14=-62\neq$$ R.H.S.

(B) : ÷ and x

L.H.S. = $$16\times4\div8-10+14$$

= $$(2\times4)+4=12=$$ R.H.S.

=> Ans - (B)
