smaller one, the quotient is 6 and the remainder is 15. What is the smaller number?

Solution

Let the smaller number be denoted by $$x$$

The bigger number can be $$6x+15$$

Bigger number - smaller number = ($$6x+15$$) - ($$x$$)

$$5x+15$$ = 1365

$$5x$$ = 1350

$$x$$ = 270
