Raja is three times as old as Arun. Three years ago, he was four times as old as Arun. How old
is Raja now?

Solution

Let arun = x

then , raja = 3x ( given )

Three years earlier , arun = x-3 and raja = 3x-3

Then , Three years ago, he was four times as old as Arun.

Then , 4(x-3)=3x-3

4x-12 = 3x-3

x= 9

and then raja = 3*x = 3*9 = 27 years
