Present age of Anil and Rajesh are in the ratio of 11 : 6 respectively. 9 years ago, their ages were in the ratio of 7 : 3. If the Pankaj’s present age is 1/4 of the Anil’s present age, then what is the Pankaj’s present age (in years)?

Solution

Let present ages of Anil and Rajesh be $$11x$$ and $$6x$$ years respectively.

=> Pankaj's present age = $$\frac{11x}{4}$$ years

According to ques,

=> $$\frac{11x-9}{6x-9}=\frac{7}{3}$$

=> $$33x-27=42x-63$$

=> $$42x-33x=63-27$$

=> $$9x=36$$

=> $$x=\frac{36}{9}=4$$

$$\therefore$$ Pankaj's present age = $$\frac{11\times4}{4}=11$$ years

=> Ans - (D)
